ARIMA BOROUGH COUNCIL ARCHIVES

In 1885, Arima was awarded the status of a Borough by Royal Charter.

The old records of the Council are said to have been burnt by a former Town Clerk in reprisal for dismissal, but there are

important survivals. [Data from Enos Sewlal, the first Government Archivist (1965)]
