1826: Hanover Methodist Church, Corner Duke & Abercrombie Streets, Port-of-Spain The foundation stone of the Port-of-Spain Chapel, seating upwards of 600 persons, was laid on 2 March, 1826, when Sir Ralph Woodford was Governor, The chapel was opened for worship in November 1827, the ministers, at the time, being the Rev. Samuel Woolley and John Stephenson. Tradition has it that the chapel was built with the help of enslaved persons. Minister: Tel.: (868) - 632 - 0475
1886: Tranquillity Methodist Church, 3 Victoria Avenue, Port-of-Spain (Corner of Tragarete Road). The foundation-stone of a temporary iron church, in the Port-of-Spain suburb of Tranquillity, was laid on 18 March, 1886 by the Governor, Sir William Robinson, and it was opened a few months later. The church was completed in 1886 on land which was originally part of Tranquillity Estate, established in 1787 as the first sugar estate in Trinidad. In January 1906, the cornerstone of the present church was laid.
The National Trust has designated Tranquillity Methodist Church as a historic building.
